Lunch Passes and Hall Passes
Lunch Passes - These are the procedures for coming to the library during your lunch time.
You must have a pass! You can get one every day in the library, but it must be before your lunch starts. If you think you might come to the library often during your lunch time, you can sign up to get a "Permanent Lunch Pass." With this pass, you don't have to stop in every day. You will keep it with you.
Once you are in the library on a lunch pass, you are expected to remain there until the end of the lunch period. We don't give out passes to those in the library for lunch. You will be dismissed within 30 minutes anyway and it keeps the hallway traffic down. It is best to eat and/or use the restroom before you come in.
No food or drink is allowed in the library. Eat in the cafeteria first, then stop in.
If you are coming in to the library from another class, please keep these procedures in mind:
A maximum of 3 students is allowed at a time per class.
All students on the pass must sign in at the front desk when they enter and sign out when they leave. You will leave your pass at the front desk and get it signed as you leave.
If you are in the library and need to use a hall pass briefly, ask one of the librarians for their pass. Never leave the library without some kind of valid pass!
If you are in the library on a study hall or class pass, you must be working on something school related (assignments, research, reading etc.) If you are not, you may be asked to leave so that others who do need to work can come to the library.
**PLEASE NOTE: When a teacher has signed up for a class to use the computers, those students will ALWAYS have priority over students in the library on a class pass, study hall pass or lunch pass. We will let you know that a class is coming in and when they do, you are expected to log off of the computer quickly and without complaint. When you come in with your class, you will be given the same priority.
