who finished 16th at the state meet, was named to the second
team in AAA. Both were tabbed for the senior teams at the AAA
level. Complete teams may be found at the
KyTrackXC
page.
The two runners, both school-record holders in the 5K, will also
be named First Team Academic All-State when the teams are
released in December.

Tates Creek senior Daniel Norman, pulled away from the lead pack with
600 meters to go to capture the 2007 Kentucky Cross Country State
Championship Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park. Norman sliced off
nearly 30 seconds from his previous best time to finish in 15:47,
winning by a six-second margin.

Daniel Norman recovers at the finish of his state
championship run Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park.
Here is the Lexington Herald-Leader
article on
Kentucky.com. Norman's school-record performance highlighted a nice
performance by the Creek at the most important meet of the season.
Bridget Stichnot lowered her 5K school record to 19:27, which placed her
17th overall. Her time helped Tates Creek finish in the top 12 overall
as a team.
Six of the seven women turned in their best times of the year, and
junior Natasha Druggan just missed her personal record at 20:51. Betsy
Goodin finished in 20:18, putting her near the top of all-time Tates
Creek cross country athletes, second only to Stichnot. Madalyn Stichnot
also set a personal best with her 20:38.
How strong was the Tates Creek women's performance? Consider this: each
of the top four runners would be the school-record holder for 5K if it
were not for their teammates.

Gag Awards
Runners will be assigned another runner for our annual "Gag" Awards.
When given the name of another runner, make up an award teasing that
runner about something funny about that person. For example, awards in
the past have poked fun about running style, talking on cell phones
while running, etc. Newer runners should talk to veterans about ideas if
needed. Awards will be shared during the post-season banquet at Gatti
Town on Tuesday.
Postseason Banquet

Gatti Town. We will start at 6:30 p.m., with awards at about 7 p.m.
