THE COACHES
 

Varsity Head Coach:

Before coming to Tates Creek High School, Coach Bo Lankster was a teacher and coach in the Paris City Schools. He now teaches math at Tates Creek and has been the head soccer coach since 1997. He has also served as the state coach for the Olympic Development Program.

Coach Lankster has lived in Lexington since 1976. He attended Lexington Catholic High School and graduated in 1984. While playing for Lexington Catholic, his team won back to back State soccer titles in 1982 and 1983.

Coach Lankster graduated from Brescia College in Owensboro, Kentucky in 1989. There, he played sweeper and center midfield. He graduated in 1989 with a degree in Business Administration and received his Secondary Education degree in 1991.

Assistant Varsity Coach:

Coach Craig Schroeder is in his third year at Tates Creek High School. He comes to the Commodores after three years as the Head Coach at Pulaski County High School where he accumulated a 24-27-5 record and his team was awarded the NSCAA Academic Award in 2005.   He also holds an Advanced Regional Diploma as well as Goalkeeper Level 1 and 2 certificates from the NSCAA.

Coach Schroeder played soccer at Somerset High School and graduated from Centre College in 2002 with dual degrees in Mathematics and Physics and was also a three year letterman in baseball. Coach Schroeder received his Doctor of Philosophy in Education Sciences at the University of Kentucky in 2007 after receiving his Master's Degree in 2004. He is currently a science and math teacher at Jessie Clark Middle School in Fayette County.

Junior Varsity Coach: Coach Brandon Turek has returned home to coach his former high school. After graduating from Tates Creek in 1999, he attended UK on academic and athletic scholarships and was a member of UK's 1st MAC Championship. He graduated from UK in December 2006 with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Business Administration.

Coach Turek began coaching in 2004 with JYSA Storm ’93 boys. The ’93 Storm have won the KSSL and the Buckeye Premier League as well as making the Midwest Regional League playoffs and state semi-finals.

Junior Varsity Coach: Coach Nathan Lockhart is in his first year at Tates Creek High School. He played soccer at Stow-Munroe Falls High School located in North East Ohio where he was a three year letterman. Coach Lockhart graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Middle School Education (Math and Science) after doing his student teaching in South Africa. He is currently teaching 8th grade science at Tates Creek Middle School.
