2007 Mason Dixon Games

On March 3, the TCHS track teams competed in the Mason-Dixon Games.  The Mason Dixon games are considered the indoor state track championships.  Every organized track team competes in this meet.  Last year, our boys won this meet and the girls placed 17^th.  The results from this year are mixed. 

The boys placed 4^th out of around 40 teams giving us a 4^th in the state ranking.  The girls placed 9^th out of around 40 schools.  Both teams did a great job.  The boys lost 6 VERY important seniors last year and still managed to place in the top 5.  The girls took their youth and scored in almost every event!

Please recognize these fine student athletes in your classrooms.  They love the recognition!

• Betsy Goodin placed 2^nd in the 400m dash with a time of 62.13
• Natasha Druggan placed 8^th in the 800m run with a time of 2:36
• Bridget Stichnot placed 4^th in the 3000m run with a time of 11:44.12
• Jasmine Franklin placed 5^th in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.63
• Natasha Druggan, Keyiyah Wells, Jasmine Franklin, and Brittany Linsdey placed 10^th in the 800m relay.  The oldest member of that team is sophomore Natasha Druggan.  They were, by far, the youngest team in the field of 31 teams and placed 10^th!
• Bridget Stichnot, Madalyn Stichnot, Courtney Hatch, and Natasha Druggan placed 4^th in the 1600m relay out of 28 teams
• Jasmine Franklin placed 8^th in the long jump
• Sara Antel placed 8^th in the triple jump
• James Coleman placed 5^th in the 400m dash
• Daniel Norman placed 3^rd in both the 800m and the 1500m!
• Josh Carter, Taylor Johnson, James Coleman, and Ty Sparks placed 4^th in the 800m relay
• Josh Carter, Daniel Norman, James Coleman, and Ty placed 2^nd in the 1600m relay
• Derrick Brown placed 3^rd in the Pole Vault.  That is amazing considering the ankle damage he did 30 days ago.  He wasn’t cleared by his doctor to even RUN until last Wednesday!
