Track and Field News
On Saturday, the TCHS track and field team competed in one of the best
high school indoor track and field meets in the country at UK's Nutter Field
House (over 4 national bests and over 100 national ranking performances were
set). Highlights include Lara Futch setting a personal record; jumping 5 feet
2 inches in the high jump. Lara beat some of the best high jumpers from
Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and other states. Lara
jumped her way to the BRONZE medal in this very competitive meet! Below is
Lara jumping her way to a 3rd place finish!

Ken Vereen edged out all other Kentucky sprinters in the 400m dash. He
beat the best runners in KY and many others from across the Midwest and
Southeast. He is now ranked as the best 400m dash runner in the state (A, AA,
or AAA)! Ken, Jamyle Cannon, James Coleman, and Derek Wright competed in the
1600m relay. This team was once again the best performance in Kentucky. They
beat last year's state champion in AAA and AA! Our 1600m relay team is a force
to be reckoned with. Below is James beating Daviess County, Louisville Central
and an all star team from Ohio.

Our next meet is the unofficial indoor state championship in Louisville on March 5 (Mason-Dixon Games).
