Tates Creek returns 26 of 29 wrestlers from last years team.
The Creek had two wrestlers place in the state tournament (Zac
Brown and Nathan Gray). We had 3 regional champions (Zac
Brown, Nathan Gray, and Daniel Griggs). Our team
finished a close 2nd in the city tournament, and placed 1st
at Johnson Central, and 3rd at the TCI. |

All three regional champions return (Zac, Nathan, and
Daniel), in addition to several starters that had winning
records and have particiated in the state tournament.
Kasey Hedges, Dodd Kinder, and Andrew Wright all bring
winning records, high rankings and state tournament
experience to the 2008-09 team. Returning starters
also include: Brandon Abney; Rilie Warner; Stephen Kimbrel;
Drew Kinsel; and Jacob Soard. |

There are many other good wrestlers that look to slide into
the starting lineup next season. Brandon Stockwell was
a state champion in the JV state tournament. Joe Davis
placed 2nd in this tournament. Other returning
lettermen include: Nick Massarone; Abraham Elgumati; Alberto
Velasco; Ronnie Salem; Travis Rigsby; Freddy Shadeh; and
Cory Evans. |

Our middle school team fared well this past season. We
had 5 young men from the middle schools. Cody Eades;
Cole Craven; Isacc Sizemore; Tyler Zepada; and nathan
Simmons all competed with success at this level. Cody
Eades and Cole Craven also moved up and wrestled some
against high school wrestlers. |

Several young ladies contribute as statasticians. They
contribute by keeping score, time, statistics, or anything
else that the team needs. Returning are: Rachael
Chandler; Brittany Stephenson; Mary Wright; and Shelby
Potter. |
